- MMatthewDerbyshire •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoFirst visit & won’t be my last. First time my son has come with us to a decent restaurant, 11 years old he had mussels, sirloin and a chocolate fondant. Loved everything he ate. Comte gougere- phenomenal!! Snacks through to dessert all cooked & presented well, can tell they use quality ingredients and have a kitchen team that can cook. Servers all polite and friendly. As a chef it’s hard to go out to eat and enjoy it however the Duncombe arms delivered great food, friendly unintrusive service at good value (£75 each snacks, 3 courses with service charge and tip too)More infoThe Duncombe ArmsPrice: Expensive• British• Ashbourne•4.6
- SSHARONDerbyshire •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoWe arrived earlier than our booking and was seared straight away, it was busy but was very appreciated. Food hit and excellent. The time we arrived was as one menu was finishing and another starting, but we chose what we wanted and it was accommodated. Was a festive feel with lovely tree decorated and nice treats to buy. The staff were welcoming and was lovely and cosy inside from the cold outdoors. Highly recommended for all, including the doggy visitors. Definitely be back.. again.More infoChatsworth KitchenPrice: Moderate• British• Bakewell•4.4
- HHayleyManchester/Greater Manchester •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoWe are a family of four, including two boisterous children. The gentleman who served us absolutely “got the memo” that I needed to discreetly pick the most suitable table to ensure we didn’t disrupt other diners. He was excellent and understanding the boys’ need to be away from other customers and brought us kids menus. The menus seem “slim pickings” but we felt like we had a good selection for our picky kids and us being pescatarian. The cocktail menu was great and we enjoy a few of those. The kids had good sized portions or burger and chicken “nugget” and thick cut chips. We had a selection of veggie sharing plates. All of the food was so incredibly tasty and we felt really full despite the portion sizes looking quite small on arrival. We’d definitely like to return to have more of the menu. We’d just have appreciated a faster service because the kids were getting restless waiting for their puddings. Other than that, this is a very easy place to recommend to others!More infoThe Restaurant at The RefugePrice: Moderate• Global, International• Manchester•4.3
