Taking hospitality back to its roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team breathing new life back into the heart of the community. The menu will offer daily, hyper-seasonal specials, and plenty of British game, meat and fish. Executive chef and owner, Jamie Dobbin is passionate about local sourcing and traditional dishes, such as Half dozen Porthilly rock oysters with shallot dressing, Brixham King scallops with burnt butter cauliflower and caviar or Portland hogget Shepherd’s pie with grilled cutlet. Serious meat lovers can expect 45 day aged native and rare breed steak on offer as well as a hero dish of Beef Wellington for two. Fish is of course wild, sustainable, and British, sourced from day boats on the South coast with the daily catch delivered straight to the door in a matter of hours. Plenty of delicious choices on the menu; all those we chose were extremely tasty and more than came up to expectations. This was our second visit here after a very good experience earlier in the year and we were certainly not disappointed. Everything, including the warm welcome and friendly, knowledgeable service and of course the superb food and drink was excellent and we can’t wait to return! A perfect way to start our Christmas celebrations.
