- NnigelOxford/Oxfordshire •2 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoChristmas Eve lunch at the White Hart was a delightful experience, brimming with warmth and festivity. We commenced our meal with an array of tempting nibbles: delectable Pancetta and Cheddar croquettes, perfectly crispy fried squid, and a selection of freshly baked breads. Each bite was exquisite, though I must admit to a tinge of disappointment at the absence of the beef dripping butter from the menu. Truth be told, my cardiologist is likely relieved, as that indulgent delight was nothing short of dangerously sublime. For the main course, my wife and son indulged in the renowned Kelmscott pork, complete with crackling and a medley of seasonal vegetables. My wife, in particular, loves this dish, often declaring it ‘divine.’ I opted for the venison accompanied by silky mash, which was equally splendid. The service was impeccable, a testament to the dedication of the staff, and I have no complaints in that regard. Our server, Harry, recognized me from a previous visit, which left me wondering whether that was a testament to his keen memory or a bad reflection on my ‘could do better’ behaviour. Harry stands out as a rare gem among young men these days. He is bright, exceptionally polite, engaging, and articulate. I worry that once he departs for university, the White Hart will feel his absence profoundly. Overall, it was a lovely meal, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to such an enjoyable experience. - LLeeOxford/Oxfordshire •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoThe Manor provided an exceptional experience for our group of eight from the moment we arrived. The venue was beautifully decorated and radiated a festive atmosphere. The staff greeted us warmly upon arrival and ensured we were well looked after until it was time to be seated for our meal. Every member of the team was helpful, polite, and attentive, showing great care in handling our food and drink orders with precision. The management went above and beyond to make our visit even more special, both during and after the meal. The atmosphere was perfect, and the staff’s consistent check-ins added to the seamless experience. It was evident that their shared commitment to excellence stemmed from the leadership and professionalism of the management team. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the evening, which was filled with fantastic entertainment, fun, and laughter—all made possible by the outstanding efforts of The Manor’s team. Thank you for such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!More infoThe Manor GarsingtonPrice: Moderate• Gastro Pub• Oxford•4.3
- JJoanneKent •1 review4.0Dined on Dec 6, 2024The website seems to be out of date, it suggests fine dining with seasonal produce but upon arrival we were met with the ‘all day’ menu which, whilst very nice, wasn’t the reason we booked this hotel. The food was very nice but ‘pub grub’ with one or two exceptions. Two choices of dessert, crumble or sticky toffee pudding. Expected a dining experience as the website mentions duck, blue cheese soufflé etc but sadly it didn’t deliver what we thought we had booked.More infoNapier's @ Oxford ThamesPrice: Very Expensive• International• Oxford•4.3
