Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Dumbarton

The Tea at Floris @ the VMFA is just lovely. This was our second visit. We were greeted warmly and seated at our table for 4 near the fireplace. Because we visited close to Valentine's Day, we were offered a special Valentine's Day menu in addition to the regular tea menu. We stuck with the tea menu but added a glass of Cava. We were celebrating a birthday and they were kind enough to bring a piece of red velvet cake to help us celebrate. It was moist and delicious. Our tea started with a pot of Masala Chai and a pot of white tea (cherry blossom) followed by freshly made (still warm) scone and walnut cranberry bread. These were served with their homemade elderberry spread. So delicious!! Next came the tea service - savory sandwiches and a small piece of quiche which was so creamy and eggy - amazing. The sweets on the tray were beautiful to look at and tasty to eat particularly the cream puff. Our server was attentive and knew the menu well. We can't wait to go again.

We went to celebrate Valentine's Day and the food and service were outstanding (as usual). I got the veal saltimbocca and my boyfriend got a ribeye. Both dishes were so flavorful and they came out quickly. Our waitress was very attentive, checking on us often. Casa Italiana never disappoints!

We had a fantastic Valentine’s Day lunch. We ate in the sunroom, which was beautiful. We had the delicious Valentine’s Day mojito. We also had the steak and potato soup. It was soooo good. Our entrees were scrumptious as well. Our server was helpful and most attentive. The atmosphere made my Valentine’s Day special.

We had a great time; the restaurant was busy, and our waitress was attentive.

The Jefferson is one of the few places that remains as an example of old Richmond and I pray they never change. Just listen to the visitors from all over sitting around me and all you hear are people commenting to each other how delicious their meal is. My wife and I have enjoyed an evening there many times and I have tried several of the meals there. Every time it was exceptional. From their Tenderloin to their Rockfish, each meal was a special event. If you are looking for somewhere for a formal occasion like a special date, anniversary, etc. I highly recommend the Jefferson. It is a bit pricey, but the food and service is second to none.
