Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Another wonderful experience at Alfred's! This is our must-do restaurant when at HHI. We had the pork chop and veal chop specials, and they were some of the best entrees we've ever had, anywhere. The mushroom cream sauce on the veal chop was so so good. Shared the Gorgonzola salad and Apple Strudel for dessert. We appreciate the care they take with their service and their amazing dishes, and we look forward to seeing you the next time we're on the island! (Tip: we always order the potato pancakes to go at the end of the meal and have them for breakfast the next morning - delicious with a fried egg!)

An absolutely lovely evening. We started the evening with a Lemon Drop martini and a martini for the hubby. Very good. We began our foods with the Beef Carpaccio, excellent. The bread was substantial and very good with the Carpaccio. Sometimes it's too hard, this was great. The quail eggs were delicious. Rylie (sp?) our server helped my hubby decide on the Elk Tenderloin as he was undecided. I am so glad she did - WOW. One of the best pieces of meat either of us have ever had. I had the Filet and it was excellent. Overall, an outstanding experience and The Bluffton room has improved over the years to become a place to celebrate those special occasions or just to have the very good burger at the bar. Can't wait until next time!
