Best Gluten Free Restaurants in The Marigny

I am gluten free as is my husband. We tried Sofia based on reading that they had gluten free options. I am happy to report that we were able to have the whipped ricotta with Gf bread as an apprenticed and ordered a pizza and pasta both GF. Everything was amazing. One of the hardest parts of being gluten free is how tasteless most things are. However that was not the case at Sofia. Everything we had was amazing and no reactions

This has been the best restaurant in New Orleans we have experienced. The service was attentive, especially since we had a child in the group. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was excellent, even tho the room seemed noisy, we had a corner round table for six of us and could talk in normal tones and everyone was heard. A perfect evening. So glad it was recommended to us!

We (7 of us) ate at Luke on Christmas Day. We were seated near the door which wasn’t ideal but wasn’t bad. The streetcar periodically going by made the noise level high because of our proximity to the door. The service was excellent in spite of it being a holiday and the restaurant being packed. The menu had nice variety. The two best items we had were the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and the Matzo Ball Soup. The worst thing we had was the Hanger Steak. It was ordered “medium” and came out bleeding. It was also rubbery. We returned it and that person ordered something else. They were completely okay with this and removed it from the bill. The Trout Almandine was good with the fish being extremely fresh. We recommend Luke and will return.

Food and service were exceptional. We had the ceviche’ and lobster ravioli appetizers then ordered Hallibut with scallops and shrimp risotto — the signature dish — and the Parmesan-crusted sheepshead with lemon butter and browned capers served either asparagus as our main courses. Everything was perfectly prepared! We ordered 3 desserts to top it all off: the salty malty ice cream pie, the white chocolate bread pudding and the chocolate mouse in a dark chocolate dome with raspberry gelee’. Perfect evening. Except for learning at the end of the night that our parking would not be validated. We were not told to bring the parking ticket to the front desk at the beginning of the night. If you go to GW Finn’s and expect to get parking validated, do not pay the garage when you park (despite the fact that all of the signs in the garage and the boots on cars are somewhat threatening in there). Instead, take your unpaid parking garage ticket directly to the front desk at the restaurant for validation with a picture of your license plate. This was the only sour note of our evening. Otherwise, it was perfect!

The Caesar salads were on point, the Hawaiian pizza was superb, and our son had the key lime pie which he absolutely loved. Our server was very nice and took good care of us.
