Best Restaurants with a Happy Hour in Old Lyme

Valentines weekend dinner. Traditionally a very busy weekend. We were seated in a room normally used for large parties but that was in use for the weekend. It made for a very cozy enjoyable experience. Our server, Kayla, was very knowledgeable and attentive. Food was amazing. Fresh bread and shrimp cocktail with jumbo shrimp to start. Perfect crab bisque-so delicious! Husband had the Rib Eye, which was cooked to perfection, along with Yukon mashed potatoes and creamed corn with bacon. I had the lobster tail with the Yukon mashed potatoes and creamed corn with bacon. Too full for dessert! Perfect evening from start to finish. Very pleasant staff and wonderful food. Highly recommend!

We recently dined at Sol Toro, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The standout dish was definitely the fajitas—probably the best we’ve ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that made every bite memorable. The service was fantastic, with a friendly and attentive staff that made us feel right at home. We also tried the Valentine’s Day margaritas, which were a special treat. Watching them make the margaritas tableside added a fun, interactive element, and the drinks were as delicious as they were beautiful. Overall, everything was excellent, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend Sol Toro for a great meal and an even better experience!

Met a friend for an early dinner. As usual it was a CNN lively low key time for dinner. Our favorite server was there and she delivered impeccable and friendly service. She greeted us at the door with a warm hello. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend Aspen for lunch or dinner!

Another fine meal with excellent service. We will be back to enjoy this local treasure.
