General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. Great place, nice ambience, tasty food and friendly staff. The blackened cajun steak was amazing! Two suggested improvements: 1) Need friendly attentive staff at bar. It took 10 mins before someone finally attended to us. All that time, they looked at us and would turn away. Not sure why… 2) Selection of apps is inadequate. Everything was tasty, but need more options Overall great experience. The above improvements would make it even better.

Service was incredible. Michelle was attentive and thorough, kind and welcoming. We loved the halibut with the creamed leeks, as well as the lemon posset for dessert. Overall it was a perfect meal with perfect drinks. We will definitely be back.
