Best Kid Friendly Restaurants in Penn Quarter

We LOVED LOVED this place! You can tell people love eating there. As soon as we walked in, it was extremely booked with people even waiting outside. We were lucky enough to find an open table for that evening. If you do consider eating here PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS! The plates are HUGE!! They can feed 2 people and you will still have enough to take home. Our waitress Nadia, was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet. We were visiting D.C for the weekend, but I sure wish they had a restaurant down in FL! The 4 cheese pasta was beyond words! So much creaminess, the perfect amount of cheese, and you can tell it was made with love! And the zuppa di mussels (to die for!) such abundance of different flavors coming together! Truly loved this place, will definitely eat here again the day we return. Great job to everyone who works at the restaurant, you can truly tell everyone loves what they do. Chef, youre food is amazing!!!

My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Lee, who was incredibly kind and took the time to personally greet everyone. The staff were just as welcoming, demonstrating excellent communication and attentiveness. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between modern elegance and cozy warmth. The course meal exceeded all expectations—each dish was thoughtfully designed with exceptional taste, creativity, and a seamless flow of service. The alcohol pairing was also expertly curated, enhancing the overall experience. What stood out most was Chef Lee’s dedication to sustainability in his restaurant. I recommend visiting the website prior to your visit to understand his intent with the non-profit org. His vision is truly inspiring, and I deeply respect his ambition. Visited with my family before a Wizzards game at Capital One arena. Nice ambiance, casual, low key. Service was attentive. Nice selection of pizza, calzones, and pasta. Close to Metro. Would recommend if you're in Penn Quarter

We’ve been dreaming about our return to Art and Soul, the fried chicken is amazing. The short ribs were prepared to perfection. Great cocktail choices. We weren’t offered dessert but we were full. Unfortunately, there was a company Happy Hour and it was very loud. There are 2 glass sliders but they were never closed to reduce the noise for the diners. We’ll return. We love the food.
