We had afternoon tea to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The tea started with some nicely cut fresh sandwiches. They could have been a bit more exciting, however the egg and cress, ham and tomato, tuna mayo, and cheese and chutney were pleasant enough. The scones with jam and cream were homemade, but I think the server had forgotten to serve the butter as there was some left on another table - but we didn't really miss it! The brownies, date and toffee cake, and mini lemon meringue pies were all delicious. The tea and coffee could do with being a bit stronger, but that's just me! All in all, it was a pleasant experience, although some more savory elements would have tempered the overwhelming sugar hit.

Our waiter was down-to-earth and very helpful, and kept us abreast of times, etc. The steak frites were superb, as was the food overall. Great ambience and lovely private tables and booths. We couldn't fault a thing. It was a perfect evening. 10/10!
