Best Lunch Restaurants in Kankakee

Tasty food, a friendly & efficient server, really reasonable prices. Our dining room was large. We were in the NE corner, where there were lots of windows. If it’s possible to enhance the underside of the outdoor awning—which was my view—that’d be a nice upgrade. The men’s restroom: the sink wall could be repaired, and the 4-letter word scratched into the wood edge of the mirror (by some sad soul): pls erase, if possible. The bar area to our north seemed like a nice space. All in all, a nice dining experience, at another of Bill D’s well-run Joliet restaurants. We’ll be back.

My dad, brother, and I dined in at Goat and Vine in Bolingbrook on a tuesday night. We ordered fried goat cheese and stuffed mushrooms as our appetizer. My dad ordered the goat cheese fig jam burger, and my brother and I split the flaming cheese wheel pasta with blackened chicken on the side. We all drank tap water. We were blown away by both the food and service. We made a reservation less than an hour before we wanted to eat, and we were sat immediately. Our server was very polite, and knew the menu well. The food was delicious, and it made its way to our table quick and hot. Our waters were always full, which usually doesn’t happen because we typically drink far too much for a server to keep up with. We all left stuffed, and they even let us take home some of their pasta for lunch the next day. As a line cook at a similar type of restaurant, I was thouroughly impressed.

Consistently delicious food, attentive service and hip cocktails. Tried two of the moles tonight and both were outstanding. The Mexican chocolate bread pudding was incredible.

We were able to sit at the counter by the window and watch all the passersby. The pimento spread was amazing and the service was incredible.
