Our aim is to be the central hub of the community, The Axe and Compasses is a traditional British village pub dating back to 1628, serving a wide and varied selection of quality lagers, cask conditioned ales, fine wines, and premium spirits. Lovely food and excellent service once a new member of staff had taken over from the previous waitress who seemed to have disappeared. There was a little confusion about what sides if any would be included with our main courses. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Our new waitress was friendly and helpful with a smile at all times. We liked our table for 4 in the corner of the conservatory. A good restaurant to come to for a special meal!

Relaxed Sunday lunch. Sat in the bar area where it was warm and cosy near one of the two fires. Only issue is the two TV’s they have running in the bar area, which can be a distraction. A handful of other customers were watching the football and the sound was off, so it was not a real issue.
