Best Lunch Restaurants in Oakwood

We were welcomed and looked after throughout lunchtime by the staff, even though they were rushed off their feet catering for several large company groups having their Christmas lunches. Despite the large numbers, the food was superb. We have been to Carlos B&V several times in the past when staying locally to look after our grandchildren - it is a treat for all the family.

Yet another wonderful evening spent at Marcus Kitchen & Bar. From the second we entered to the moment we left, the ambience and service was second to none and the aromas of the next dishes being cooked were just heavenly. This evening we tried the salmon gnocchi and it didn't disappoint, absolutely delicious as was the fish soup. Generous portions served with love and pride, just like Mamma would have made.

All staff extremely happy, friendly and attentive. Felt that the food could have been a bit hotter. Must admit that the roast beef was quite tough.

Beautiful setting - afternoon tea in front if an open fire. Staff were extremely courteous and attentive. The free chocolates for the birthday guest was a lovely touch! And there was unlimited tea. The standard scones were deliscious and the clotted cream to die for. Disappointing the jam was in jars not a dish, there was no butter and the birthday girl's gluten free scone was more like a biscuit than a scone - too thin and shattered when split. The cakes were OK but nothing special - carrot cake and chocolate brownies pretty basic, and for £85 for three I was expecting something a bit more special - maybe at least one cream cake. The gf sandwiches were too dry to eat. Overall a lovely afternoon sipping tea in front of the fire, but turned out to be not the best birthday treat for someone who's gluten free.

We’ve been dining for 3 nights at the Holt hotel and every time it was delicious and the service 10 out 10, a bit expensive but everything is I guess these days. Highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel! 🥰
