- LLorraineDerbyshire •2 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoBooked on the day and had a good table but unfortunately it was right under the speaker with loud Christmas music playing . Menu limited and no desserts on the menu , been a good few months since our last visit but other customers told us the place had been taken over again by new owners . Usually walk over in the summer to have a drink outside . Food very good , steak a bit pricey so didn’t feel that was good value , however fish and chips were excellent . Great to get home made chips . Not enough staff for place being so busy but the coped really well and were very friendly and worked hard to keep up with the customers at the bar . Dog friendly pub , only one in our area so another plus . Would recommend a visit .More infoThe WoodsidePrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Chesterfield•4.1
- JJoanneDerbyshire •1 review4.0Dined on Dec 6, 2024Booked a table as location was convenient to catch up with friends for food and drinks. I had not eaten here for several years and had seen mixed reviews. Whilst the pub itself was maybe more busy than usual on the run up to Christmas service did not take long at the bar. My friends ordered pie and chips, fish and chips whilst I had ordered Mediterranean linguine with additional chicken. When the order arrived , there was no chicken with my pasta and the pie and chips looked extremely underwhelming - size of portion mainly. As it happened we hadn’t been charged for the chicken and as it would have taken 10 minutes to arrive, decided it really wasn’t that essential. The linguine was ok, plenty of vegetables and whilst the fish and chips looked uninspiring were quite nice. I will certainly go to the Abbey again for drinks but can’t say any of us would be ordering food in the future.More infoAbbeyPrice: Moderate• Pub• Sheffield•3.1
