Best Pre-Theater Restaurants in Malden

We have come here before, so felt we knew what to expect. It was one of the few restaurants still taking Valentine reservations. The service was excellent, but the food was subpar in both taste and quality. The sea bass had been prepared and in addition had sat on the pass thru for a while. The steak was overcooked and of mediocre quality. We will not be returning to dine here - it simply isn’t worth it.

The Harvest never disappoints even on a busy Friday night that just happens to be Valentine’s Day. The food is delicious and, just as importantly, as you ordered it. My medium-well done filet mignon was exactly the temperature I requested. Too often, it comes out rare, but not here. The pacing of courses was good: neither too fast nor too slow. The Harvest manages to reinvent itself decade after decade without losing the fine quality and service it is famous for. Just go; you’ll be glad you did.

The three course Valentine’s Day dinner was excellent! Pretty much everything we had was above average, compared to restaurants at a similar price range. The oysters and shrimp cocktail was a strong start. The Chateaubriand steak was particularly phenomenal, and the sides we chose (spicy broccoli and sautéed mushrooms) exceeded expectations. The profiteroles for dessert rounded it out quite nicely! We will be coming back here.

It was ok. Violinist was awesome. I think the food could have been better.

From the excellent staff, to the delicious go to (but at the same time not run of the mill) cocktails and mocktails, to the always fresh and always delicious food, to the perfectly timed service, we had another great time at this restaurant.
