Best Restaurants with Private Rooms in Downtown St. Louis

Last night, my husband and I had the pleasure of dining here, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. As part of a 12-day culinary tour of St. Louis's finest upscale restaurants, we have been impressed by this establishment's exceptional offerings. We went there as a late Valentines dinner. The food was great. So much flavor and the service and atmosphere was on point. It’s a little pricey for us but it was a special occasion and we will be back to celebrate another special day.

Lunch was amazing! Excellent service and amazing food. We started with a glass of Prosecco while sampling the amazing focaccia! Best ever! Next the mushroom and black truffle soup followed by the fish sandwich of the day.

This weekend evening at dinner time when the local baseball game was on-going should have provided personalized and individualized care. However, with one bartender and one server (I so no food runner or assistants or managers either) the service was slow. When it happened, the server was marginal but the bartender, Toni, was absolutely fabulous! She not only made you feel welcome and appreciated, she made the BEST Paper Plane in the Universe! The mix of doos that we selected was well presented and tasty. The menu however is very small and Pennydrop is more of an upscale bar with a small bar menu as opposed to a full service restaurant with an amazing bar. When the baseball game finished and a crowd from the game flowed in, the service slowed even further and lines at the bar were much longer. With a few more staff members, the experience would have been maximized. Regardless of this, I will be back for my next Paper Plane before I head out of town.

Great atmosphere! The food was amazing as was the service! With there only being two bays it is quiet enough for a romantic meal and enough space for a nice size group. Highly recommend
