Best Restaurants for Anniversaries in Skokie

I took an old friend to Capital Grille tonight to celebrate his birthday. When making the reservation, I was asked if this was a special occasion. When we arrived, the table was tastefully decorated and a birthday card from the restaurant awaited. Our server, Shavon, was terrific and attentive. After a delicious dinner, a beautifully decorated desert tray and candle arrived. I could not have arranged a better two-person birthday party for my friend. Thanks 'Capital Grille'!

We went there for my wife’s birthday. Service, drinks and entrées were great. I had the moussaka which was one of the best I’ve ever had and my wife had the Bronzino which she said it was very flavorful. I told them ahead of time it was my wife’s birthday. They brought us what they called a “cheesecake“ with a candle in it. I believe they call it some type of Greek cheesecake. I hate to say this but it was inedible. Not good at all. We wound up ordering gelato instead which was delicious. But I was surprised when they charged us $14 for the birthday cheesecake which was never communicated to me. Don’t get me wrong, this place is really really good. But I would avoid the “birthday cheesecake” and they should’ve communicated that they were charging us $14 for it.

Our experience at Aboyer was outstanding. Our waiter was aware of our time frame and frequently checked back with us to make sure we were within the required time frame. We purchased drinks, appetizers and desserts from the Happy Hour Menu. The food was excellent. We were seated in the private dining room. It is a beautiful space. We look forward to returning to Aboyer.

Everything was so delicious.. compliments to the chef ! It’s great place for a date night. We’ll be back!!
