Appetizer of foie gras was excellent and the magret canard with brussels sprouts and an orange sauce in a gravy boat was a perfect presentation for those who would like a choice of using the sauce. My preference has always been seared RARE duck breast served plain and thinly sliced. But this evening I did dip some of my duck into the sauce and was pleasantly surprised. My dinner partner felt her seared scallops were outstanding. My 10 year old son devoured his hamburger topped with a "ton" of melted gooey cheese and his frites were to his liking. My son and I have dined out together for 7 years and he is the perfect dinner companion with good manners and is a quiet conversationalist. I would not bring a child to Ma Maison who cannot maintain appropriate decorum that respects other diners. Two couples who shared a table next to us engaged my son in a conversation as we were leaving. At the end they brought me into the conversation and asked, "Can we take him home with us?" Of course I politely declined all the while thinking, "You could never afford him!" :-))More infoMa MaisonPrice: Moderate• French• Beacon Hill•4.8
- BBeataGreater Boston •38 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThis is about the 4th time my friend and I have celebrated our birthdays by going out to 75 Chestnut. I love this restaurant because it’s festive, but casual. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. There were enough vegetarian options. There just weren’t any draft IPA beers available which was disappointing to me. Our server was wonderful. She was so friendly and attentive, and did everything she could to make our dinner perfect. To top it all, the restaurant gave us a special birthday dessert with a candle as a surprise.More info75 ChestnutPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Beacon Hill•4.7

- KKellyGreater Boston •21 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoI ordered my steak "black and blue" and it was a bit over cooked to my liking. Since sending it back stresses out my husband I decided to keep it but was none the less disappointed in part because I had eaten half of it before the server even checked on us. Had he checked on us sooner I would have likely sent it back. I am always surprised when steak houses can't get steak doneness perfected.More infoMooo BEACON HILLPrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• Beacon Hill•4.8
