Ambience, table by the window with the tide rolling in, the delicious food, well mixed drinks, and responsive and experienced server Candy, made the night an extra special treat. From the moment we arrived, everyone at the restaurant greeted us warmly and made us feel truly welcome. Our reservation was at 5 PM, so the restaurant wasn’t too crowded yet, but even as it filled up, the level of attentiveness remained exceptional. Our waiter, Troy, was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great recommendations. For appetizers, we had the Sicilian Crudo and one of Troy’s suggestions—a warm dinner bread served with butter, honey, and herbs. I don’t remember the exact name, but it was absolutely delicious! For our main courses, my husband had the Iberico Pork, and I had the Roasted Branzino. The Branzino was packed with herbs and flavors—I usually can’t finish a large meal, but I couldn’t stop eating it. We were too full for dessert, though I wish we had saved room! It was our first time at Herb & Wood, but it’s now on our list of favorite restaurants for special occasions.More infoHerb & WoodPrice: Expensive• Californian• Little Italy•4.7

- BBarbaraSan Diego •38 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoIf you are looking for a classic dinner house of the 60s-70s this is it.Even the background music is retro which is fun. My companion and I went for Valentines Day Lunch and it was delicious. Our service was great. With the fireplace the ambiance was perfect. I have to say I was surprised the female servers were barely clothed with ample cleavage showing and a "Skirt" which barley covered their back side . My companion loved it but yet the male servers were in long pants how about tight shorts for the guys as well . We women deserve eye candy as well. This isn't Hooters !More infoButcher Shop Steakhouse - San DiegoPrice: Expensive• Steak• Kearny Mesa•4.5
