- EErinTulsa •3 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 29, 2024* Update* Hunter, GM, invited me back for a redo and I cannot express how happy I am I went. Service and food were better even than past years and made it a spectacular birthday dinner. I would write more, but character limits!! I treat myself to dinner at Juniper pretty much every year for my birthday. This year my experience was overall very disappointing which is such an anomaly from years past. I was greeted with a happy birthday as usual while at the hostess stand and given my options for where I wanted to sit. Now, this is where my decision probably didn’t help the situation, however I am used to nothing but exceptional service every time I dine at Juniper so didn’t consider my choice to be an issue. As a single diner, I chose a two top in the bar area as to not take up valuable real estate better used by other diners on a Saturday night and it just happened to be tucked in the corner a bit. I was given water and a menu within 5 mins and was a little surprised I wasn’t given a small glass of bubbly wine as a birthday treat as I’ve gotten in years past, but I understand times change. As I sat and waited for my waiter/waitress to take my order, I saw everyone around me getting the exceptional service I was used to at this establishment and felt completely neglected. 25 mins after being sat I had finally ordered and an additional 15 mins after that I had my appetizer, but no wine that I had ordered. I went up to the bar and asked for it and the bartender was deeply apologetic and comped the wine which was very kind. The bartender eventually noticed I was in the bar area and from then on went out of his way to make sure the service was impeccable, but the first half of my dining experience kind of soured the whole night. Most of the food was spectacular as usual. I don’t know if it was just an off night because my experience was so different in years past, but this was a birthday dinner I wouldn’t mind forgetting.More infoJuniper RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Farm-to-table• Tulsa•4.7
- KKeithTulsa •2 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 28, 2024This was a very good experience from the moment I made the reservation on OpenTable. Even though I couldn’t book a reservation for seven on OpenTable. I booked it for six and put a note in there that I needed a reservation for seven and they confirmed the reservation for seven. We arrived 10 minutes early and our table was ready, very attentive host and the food and drinks were VERY good as well. We will definitely be returning. - VVanOklahoma City •22 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 26, 2024The experience was wonderful, but it didn't start that way, and i nearly left before it started. When I first arrived, I was greeted by a less than friendly staff member. She acted like it was an inconvenience have to deal with me. I gave her my name and told her I had a reservation. She turned and said, "How about that high table in the bar?" . I politely told her I would like a standard table.... she very loudly huffed off and just left me awkwardly standing there. I was there long enough that I nearly walked back out. Eventually, a very friendly but professional lady approached me and asked if I had been helped. Without going into detail, I said, "Not really." She was wonderful. She guided me to a comfortable place to wait and shortly came to get me when a table was ready. She did a fantastic job of making me feel welcome and making sure things were good, even bringing a course or two herself. I wish I had gotten her name... she deserves recognition from higher management. My server was a delight. I believe she had already worked a long day and yet was happy to be there. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and interacted in a pleasant manner. I started with a cheese board. It was a great selection of items and well presented. The Pecan salad had great flavor and a generous serving size. I opted for the ribeye for a main course. It had great flavor and was cooked a perfect med/rare. I topped it off with the bread pudding. It was a great choiceMore infoThe Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar - TulsaPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Tulsa•4.6
