Water Lane is a restaurant based within a working market garden in the High Weald of Kent. Guided by the seasons, our menu reflects its sense of place in the English countryside where we grow our own vegetables and use local suppliers. The Ferry Inn is a serendipitous country public house with welcoming staff, character rooms, candlelight, open fires, real ales, popular foods and fantastic sunsets. A 17th Century former smugglers haunt-- this is a pretty little pub in a lovely marshland setting with tables and benches on the front terrace and in the back alongside the riverbank. Inside it's very easygoing and chatty. The main bar has hop-draped painted beams, a green dado, and stools against the bar where they serve a beer called Oxney Ale specially brewed for the pub by Westerham Brewery. Lovely interior and welcome was warm on arrival. Scallops were delicious, mushroom linguine devine and the cheese board was tasty. Cocktail was refreshing. I liked it a lot! Burgers eaten by our friends were a little overcooked and dry, but we had a lovely time overall.

Everything was great. Food was delicious. Dogs were welcome. Atmosphere was cosy. Preferred the snug over the main restaurant - it was just so cosy! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic place with great food, very attentive staff and excellent customer service. I particularly want to mention how well the entire staff dealt with my wife’s nut allergy. Also very refreshing to hear nothing but professional chat from the staff. We will be back again soon. Thank you for a lovely experience.
