The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. Food was great, only downside was being told from 5.55pm (we booked in at 5pm) was that we needed to be out by 6.15pm and felt like we had to rush our cocktails that we’d ordered at the end. Other than that, really good though. Maybe just worth extending table booking to 90 mins!
