Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). It's a short walk from Gallions Reach. We arrived early but were most welcome. We had a fantastic unhurried meal. Enjoyed the great views of the city and the airport. The service was excellent and the food was fabulous. A great evening overall.
