Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Casual, coastal and cozy - fresh seafood, fin fish, shellfish and hearty chowders in a warm, relaxing atmosphere that says "seaside" - a place that had tradition, patriotism, and a New England heritage about it. Overall, it was a great experience. I had an anniversary dinner here with my wife, and we loved the food and atmosphere. The service was exceptional. It's out of our typical price range, but it is in the heart of Philadelphia, so it is to be expected. It was a night to remember!

One of my favorite center city cafes. Great food, drinks and it's beautiful. We had fried shrimp, Brussel sprouts, french onion soup, chicken ceasar salad. We also had a couple christmassy drinks. Everything fun and fabulous I go at least 4 times a year. I always bring someone because it's great

The food was absolutely wonderful, and you truly get what you pay for in terms of quality and presentation. I highly recommend dining here for a special occasion or a treat-yourself moment.
