Best Restaurants for People Watching in Alameda

Another amazing meal at our favorite French bistro in San Francisco. Sit at the bar for more room and great people-watching. We had the most perfect escargot and steak frites that we have ever eaten anywhere in the world. Do not come here expecting a restaurant. It is a traditional french cafe/bar with incredible food and service.

The restaurant was amazing! It was beautiful for Valentine’s Day dinner date. The view of the bridge was a special treat! Our servers were very attentive and we let them know we had a time constraint but they never made us feel rushed. They just ensured everything came out in time and we were done on time. The food was excellent!

Scallop risotto, French dip sandwich, and black cod couscous were all awesome! Definitely worth trying. But my fave was the Brussels sprouts!!! They were crunchy with just the right amount of sweetness, vinegar, and that panasan cheese. So good!

It is always a special experience to dine at the Rotunda because it is so much a part of San Francisco history and a beautiful venue! My friend Manuel had never been there so he had a blast seeing the space and enjoying the food. Ralph, our server, was polite and attentive and the food was good as always. I do enjoy a place where I am already recognized by the hosts especially since one feels like one is being greeted by family. :)

This is one of our very favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Food and service are impeccable. It is particularly lovely to sit in the main room with the fireplace where they are often roasting meat. It is a special place. Don’t tell too many people!!
