Best Restaurants for People Watching in Playa del Rey

An epic steakhouse with a wonderful staff, fantastic menu and outstanding atmosphere. Ocean view tops it all off nicely. Have been wanting to go here for a while and found a good excuse to gather a bunch of friends for lunch - a perfect venue for a lively, comfortable social gathering - food was absolutely delicious and bar cocktails are unique and satisfying. I think I speak for our group when I say I can't wait to come back soon.

My family and I had an amazing Christmas Eve dinner at North Italia, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The service was outstanding—our server, Blake, truly went above and beyond to make the evening feel special. The food was incredible! The bolognese was rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed—a definite highlight for me. My sister, who usually avoids pasta, absolutely loved the ricotta cavatelli. It was creamy, delicious, and a standout dish that surprised her in the best way. The warm atmosphere, attentive service, and fantastic food made for a memorable evening. I would highly recommend North Italia for any special occasion or just a great meal out. We’ll definitely be back!

Food was excellent  and the ambience and view was amazing. But the only thing is the lady outside told us there were no tables available so she put us on the waitlist. We waited for an hour, but when we looked up on OpenTable, there were lots of spaces available so don’t rely on the people on the front desk and check OpenTable for reservations and availabilities.

Had a great time. The waitress was more than patient with friends and I. One of them had diet restrictions and she patiently gave us time to figure out how the menu would work for her. The seating and lights where stunning and food was really good. To our surprise, we came on a day they did karaoke and had a lot of fun before heading out. We stayed much longer than we thought we would. Love the free parking. Cute little quaint area. Would definitely go back for the try all menu.

The food buffet was good and had lots of option. The bottomless drinks were not very nice. The espresso martini was not nice at all!
