Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in South Austin

We had an early Saturday evening dinner (5:30 pm) with another couple. The table was in a nice alcove and very quiet at that time. We had lovely conversation and great food, drinks and dessert. The server was prompt, knowledgeable, and efficient. When we left around 7:30 pm, the bar was very full of customers eating and drinking and was quite lively. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and even more customers were arriving.

Fantastic dinner here. Parking available, promptly greeted and seated; our waiter was excellent, made sure we were aware of HH specials and cut-off for ordering from that menu. Both apps we ordered were great, as was the Redfish Anna with lump crab. The fish was a pricey fish but the portion size and quality of the fish, crab and delicious sauce made it more than worthwhile. Highly recommend!!

What a quaint and lovely place in the midst of downtown Austin. Amazing drinks, great food and super attention to detail. The focaccia bread was so good that I couldn’t remember anything like it.

I had an incredible experience at this Oaxacan gem! The service was absolutely outstanding—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Their variety of moles is a true highlight, each one rich and bursting with authentic flavor. The wagyu deshebrada taco was simply unforgettable—perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection. To top it off, their mezcal selection is extensive, offering something for every palate. Whether you’re a mezcal connoisseur or just curious to try, you’ll find plenty to love here. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor the best of Oaxacan cuisine!

Great atmosphere for a small dinner party and private enough for a date or solo meal. The location has the advantage of being in the heart of downtown; so walk-ability to desired points of interest are a plus but makes for parking to be a minus. In terms of food, their dinner menu is a nice balance of of options without it being exhaustive - solid selections for every foodie. Notable things to try are the braised wagyu and rotisserie chicken. Corinne’s is on the pricier side with entrees ranging from $25 - 65 pp and the portions are what you would expect from a higher end restaurant - on the smaller side - but they are packed with so much flavor that you’ll absolutely devour every last bite and be clamoring for more. It’s your looking for cocktails their drinks are well crafted and expensive; you’re looking at $16 per drink so catching them at a happy hour or enjoying a glass of wine with your meal may be a better option financially. Overall, Corinne’s is quite the destination for an evening out with friends or loved ones, there’s plenty of choices for even the pickiest people and it’ll be hard to walk away from this experience without a great memory to follow.
