Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Winfield

The food was excellent, couldn’t have been better. I loved that they asked me how I wanted the Atlantic salmon cooked (I chose medium well— it was perfect for me). The service was very good and the atmosphere very pleasant. No complaints! We had a very enjoyable experience. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it.

My husband and I use to patronage City Gate regularly before the pandemic. I'm so glad that my husband decided to celebrate his birthday there this year. The food, service and hospitality was outstanding. We will certainly be returning in the very near future.

Christmas day- they were slammed! We arrived early, had an additional wait due to the crowd. We met Jamie the bartender had some excellent drinks, great service- even tho she was also slammed super efficient. Got to our table and met Paul our server- who had already put in a 9 hour day (same story on Christmas Eve), who was super pleasant. He handled our table cheerfully and efficiently. Everyone was hustling in the restaurant but we were not made to feel unwelcome in ANY way. The staff was exceptional, I know how exhausted I was after our Christmas eve with the family and it was lovely to be waited on and cared for! We make a point of spending Christmas day with family at the Bloomingdale Jamesons yearly and are so GRATEFUL they are willing to share Christmas with us. The manager is to be commended- it's not 2 days it's a marathon! Bless you!

While our entire experience was excellent, I have to call out the service as some of the best we have had. It started at the host stand with a warm welcome, attentive and personal service from our waiter and ended with a sincere and kind departure by the host stand team! Truly exceptional experience all around. Add to that the food was well-prepared, perfect temp and very flavorful. We had ribeye and NY strip steaks and Caesar salads, followed up by the banana pudding. All were quite tasty! From the bar, the cocktails were very well made … old fashioned, manhattan and mojito. We look forward to our next dining experience at Weber Grill Lombard!!
