We offer lunches daily and our wonderful Sunday lunch has tables from 12:00 until 16:00. THE WOODSMAN IS A TRULY BRITISH RESTAURANTWe use the best British ingredients, all sourced as sustainably as possible.We love using Wild food, and harvest much of it ourselves. All the meat on our menus is “nose to tail” so the menu is ever changing, and we waste nothing. We even employ our own head ranger to keep the deer herds on the land we manage under control, and have our own deer larder in the Cotswolds where this amazing product is processed.Our fish comes from day boats in Cornwall.We work with the seasons, ensuring the very best truly local veg is with us the day after its picked. The Horse and Groom Inn aims to provide great food and drink in a quintessential, traditional 16th century country inn. Dining is relaxed and informal in a friendly atmosphere. We had a delicious Sunday Roast - strip loin of beef for me and lamb for my husband. Generous portions, range of vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and roasties. ( Roasties were the only MINOR letdown - so difficult to provide crispy roasties in a busy restaurant on a Sunday; these were crisp but clearly reheated) Dessert - we really didn’t have room but it would have been rude not to! Equally yummy. Service was attentive without being overbearing. If we lived nearer we’d certainly revisit.

Wonderful Sunday lunch today. Wish I had booked last night too. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were all very amenable and efficient. All of them were excellent which is a good sign. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Reasonably priced food for the portion size and quality. Mains are quite big, especially burgers and fish and chips (if on their menu). All good is seasonal and fresh and you definitely can taste it! A great range of drinks using local suppliers

As always the Vintner does not disappoint. Friendly staff good food nice ambiance. This time an excellent starter of pear carpaccio with toasted almonds, honey dressing and whipped goats cheese… delicious and imaginative. Followed by a nice risotto.
