Best Restaurants with a Fireplace in Salem

Had a very nice dinner at Teresa's Prime. Food was hot and perfectly cooked. We had a couple of fillets that were excellent, and the calamari appetizer was wonderful. Slightly heavy salt in some sauces, but nothing too objectionable. Prices were about what we expected for a quality steakhouse. With a couple of drinks, dessert, and tip our total was just under $300. Service was excellent. Noise level was a bit high, but it was a Friday night and the restaurant was pretty full. I will visit again and would recommend it to someone looking for a quality steak dinner.

We love going to the Post! The food is always so good and the service is great. It’s definitely worth the trip!

Everything was amazing until the last ten minutes. We had ordered our last drink at the bar, we had a reservation there, and ready to go (already let the bartender know). For some reason the floor manager felt the need to tell us we needed to wrap things up as another reservation was waiting on our seats. I don’t think she checked we had reservations but some communication along front of house could have avoided and awkward end to our night.

I liked the Hawthorne. Same menu in either of 2 restaurants (bar or more upscale). My chowder was excellent, terrific sides (onion rings), and good main (my turkey Reuben was good but a bit dry). Excellent service. Music performers were good, although it made conversation a little tougher. I’ll definitely return.
