Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in Hillcrest

Highly recommended. If you've never been here, it is one of the most beautiful restaurants in San Diego and doesn't need a view of the city or water. On top of that, the food is fantastic. We had the chef's cut (hanger) steak along with the beef short ribs and salmon. Both dishes were incredible. We finished the evening with the tres leches cake and coffee. Amazing! The only thing better than the food and ambiance was the service provided by Mehdi. He made spot on dinner and dessert recommendations for us. He was fantastic and truly an asset to the Prado. I will be back, even if it is just for dessert and/or cocktails. Oh, also dog friendly on the front patio, which tonight provided awesome music from the wedding nearby.

Great food, very cool environment. Had a wonderful time there with two clients of mine. Loved the variety of food, and the drinks were outstanding. The only issue is that it was a little cold at the bar. But when we move to a table. The temperature was fine.

I took my mom there last night for dinner. We are from Chicago and are no strangers to good food and Michelin-starred level dining. This was hands down one of the best meals we've both had in a long time. Get the hangar steak and lamp chops. The avocade labneh and hummus were beautiful too with locally sourced crudite. I also had the scarpinocc which was one of the best pastas I've ever had (even compared to what I've tried in Italy itself). We couldn't believe this place didn't have a michelin star yet but suspect that will change by the time we come back again. Next time we are in San Diego, this is the first stop we are making.

Excellent meal overall. Very nice ambience that resembles French bistros. Escargot nicely prepared and came out bubbling hot. Confit of duck was delicious- crispy skin and meat tender and falling off bone. Not a fan of the white sauce paired with the duck as I prefer a sweeter sauce to counter act the rich fattiness of the duck. Crepes Suzette for dessert was light and a nice ending to the meal. Overall an excellent experience.
