- DDonaldvipWashington, D.C. Area •3 reviews5.0Dined todayThis is not the first time we have been to the Ashby Inn. We have returned there several times over the years and we have always enjoyed excellent service and cuisine. The rooms have always been well appointed and comfortable. This visit was no exception. The location is also a big plus if you are interested in visiting Virginia wineries. Several excellent wineries are close by, such as Linden and Glen Manor Vineyards. If you bring up The Ashby Inn on Google Maps and search for nearby wineries, you will find quite a few. The north section of Shenandoah National Park is also close by. The north entrance at Front Royal is only 30 minutes from the inn.More infoThe Ashby InnPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Paris•4.8

- KKarenWashington, D.C. Area •1 review4.0Dined on Dec 8, 2024Beautiful setting and great ambience. The best omelet I’ve ever had as it wasn’t overcooked. High quality ingredients in all the dishes we tasted. Our server was having an off day. He apologized for forgetting things multiple times. We received our drinks after we finished our appetizer. The wine I ordered with the last course didn’t arrive until 10 min after the course. Maybe they were short staffed? In spite of the service issues we’d go back and give them another chance.More infoThe Bistro at The GoodstonePrice: Moderate• American• Middleburg•4.4
- JJasonVirginia •4 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 8, 2024Dinner for Four (two couples) at the Tavern! 5-stars thanks to a prefect meal presented to us by Patrick. Due to the price of the "5 course" Game and Seafood dinner I was fully expecting to be underwhelmed. However, a few things came together to make it worthy of 5 starts. First we were seated in an a more intimate room. At first we thought the fireplace room might be more desirable but they were loud (children etc). Second and most importantly, our server, Patrick knocked it out of the park. Conversation, pacing, attentiveness, delivery...everything. And yes, the Chef also prepared everything to perfection. Venison, short ribs, lobster...etc. While we won't be back...we were very pleased to have dined here.More infoThe Red Fox Inn & TavernPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Middleburg•4.6
- EEdwardWashington, D.C. Area •3 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 8, 2024My partner and I each selected a five-course dinner option from a wide-ranging menu of about 20 options. Each course was exquisitely prepared and we had a personal visit from the chef to answer any questions we had about food preparation or special needs. This ranked with one of the top meals I have ever had, both nationally and internationally. The price, with wine, for two was in the $500 range with tip, but the service, ambiance, and food made this special birthday occasion well worth it. I have no regrets. This is a place where one gets what one pays for. Simply superb!!More infoConservatory at GoodstonePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Middleburg•4.4
