Best Romantic Restaurants in Chadds Ford

We’ve been going to Sullivan’s since 1997! It’s our go to bar restaurant! Awesome ambience, service is usually top notch, their signature “Knock Out” Martini is the best around! For a period since 2020 the restaurant went shall I say, down hill… clientele to service but over the past year or so it’s made a tremendous comeback! No it’s not “top of the line Del Frisco’s” but for a time there it was along the lines but then dropped to an average restaurant. I think the menu has improved, the service definitely improved but I miss the svelte waitresses in black skirts & fancy tights & the waiters that were also so called “eye candy” as my wife and daughter put it. Although they’ve made the restaurant for the “common folk” it’s missing its luster but it’s coming back I think . Anyway, Alyssa our waitress tonight was “Better than the meal and drinks” she made the night! Her service was impeccable, over the top and outstanding. She was conscientious, observant and pleasant! By far the “BEST” service we’ve had there in a few years! The girl deserves a raise but not a promotion b/c we need her serving no managing! But “show her the MONEY!” I’ll be requesting Alyssa from now on!!! and I have a huge referral base! Doc & Pam

Dinner for four on New Year's Day was superb. The seafood platters, clams with linguine, veal piccata, stuffed mushrooms, wedge salad and dessert were delicious and perfectly presented. Drinks were also excellent, and our waiter was very attentive and entertaining. The restaurant was so cozy on a cold winter evening, and we lingered until we were a bit late for our Longwood Christmas entry reservation! All in all, a perfect evening in Chadds Ford. Would highly recommend this iconic restaurant.

My father and I came back last Saturday night for another father-daughter dinner date night. Lilly was our waitress, she was very sweet. For drinks, Dad and I each had soda. For an appetizer, we ordered the Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings served in a light chili sauce drizzle. They are always our favorite, and they disappeared in seconds! For the main course, I ordered my favorite, the Beef With Broccoli, which had beef, ginger-garlic aromatics, green onions, and steamed broccoli, served in a soy sauce over white rice, with extra white rice on the side. It was yummy, as always! Dad ordered the Sesame Chicken, another favorite of ours. It had chicken, bell peppers, onions, broccoli, and it was served in sesame sauce and sesame seeds on top, with white rice. It was so good, Dad ate the whole thing! For dessert, we ordered the Great Wall Of Chocolate, our favorite chocolate cake! It has six layers of chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. It is a HUGE slice of cake, so make sure you share! Victor, the general manager, was very nice, and he made sure that everything was okay, and an assistant manager, also came by to our table to clean it before we sat down to have our meal. Had a fabulous family dinner! Service was outstanding and food amazing. We had crab bisque soup, Mandarin & Brussels salad, and variety of entrees - halibut, fillet mignon, Braised Buffalo Short Ribs, Pork Osso Bucco. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious.

Lovely meal and tasty drinks. Started with a Whiskey Business and a white sangria, both delicious. We opted for the classic alpine fondue with French bread, pretzel bread, apples, cauliflower, peppers and carrots for dipping. We also ordered the charcuterie plate which had chorizo, summer sausage, prosciutto, delicious whole grain mustard, fig spread, artisan grain and fruit crackers, pickles, Peruvian red pearl peppers, olives and pearl onions - a great accompaniment to the fondue and not too heavy.
