When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other.     The Charles has the BEST Customer Service, hands down! EVERYONE was super polite, attentive, engaging and personable. Our server, Chelsey, gave the best feedback, learned our names, and even took beautiful pics for us. She's awesome & if she's a trainer for The Charles, then I know more wonderful servers will be produced. The ambiance was gorgeous, nice music, just the right amount of light, and the food was very flavorful. The "off the menu" items were delicious, especially the specialty pasta one of the young ladies made. Definitely a place to try!

    The entire staff, including the front desk and full team of servers, was wonderful. Food was great and consistent with other Catch meals we’ve had previously in NYC. We had our infant with us so we booked an early reservation, and while the restaurant was decently busy at 5pm, by the time we left at 7:45pm it was packed and definitely a place to be!

From the moment you descend into their stunning underground location, you’re greeted with an ambiance that is both elegant and inviting. The service was impeccable—our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. As for the food, every bite was perfection. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, tender and flavorful, with a sear that could only come from true culinary expertise. The sides, especially the truffle mac and cheese and the mash potatoes, were the perfect complements. Dakota’s is more than a meal; it’s an experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in a luxurious dinner, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommend!
