As a core pillar of our mission, TAKOI operates HiO Farm which is located just a mile north of the restaurant. During the height of farm season, the restaurant highlights dishes prepared with HiO produce utilizing the techniques and flavors inspired by Thailand and beyond. TAKOI, originally KATOI, began as a food truck in 2014, evolved into an Ann Arbor pop-up, and landed as a proper restaurant at 2520 Michigan Avenue in March of 2016. After being open for 11 months, having a slew of fun, and garnering a handful of awards — including a James Beard 'Best New Restaurant' nomination— KATOI was brought back down to earth when it was subjected to arson in February 2017. Food was excellent. Service from Carlos was excellent & didn't feel rushed. The volume was low so you could hear your conversations. They sat us at a table near the window with view of the patio which was nice. I'd say the only criticism where drinks are a little pricey and valet $ for being so close to the door.

Love going to Johnnys. We only go on Sundays for the music. We love the couple who performs. Collin is always our waiter and we love him. Takes great care of us.

We had a party of 8, and everyone enjoyed the night. It has become one of our favorites even though we live about 40 minutes away. Everything is good here food, service, quantity, value, and atmosphere. We will try to get back whenever we can.
