MUA is known for its open atmosphere, eclectic décor, art events and, of course, its delicious food. Ideal for large parties or intimate gatherings, the spacious dining room creates a relaxed, casual vibe for guests to enjoy their meals. A large selection of wines, cocktails and beers make MUA a great spot for an evening out with friends. Family owned and run Mua was one of the first restaurants to open in what was then Auto Row in Oakland, in 2008. After their first 2 restaurants, Pastoral in Berkeley (first opened in 1982 while still students, 37 in the architecture program at Cal and San-Ju painting at SFAI) then later Soizic (Jack London Square, 1996), they wanted to shift gears from heavily curated menus to more comfort-based fare catering more to the eclectic and artistic community in Oakland. Today you’ll find people of all ages and backgrounds, from Too Short to Jerry Brown.

    I love Yoshi’s, the food and the vibe is outstanding! Our service in the restaurant was (and is always) top notch! My only issue is checking in for dinner before a concert, it always feels chaotic. It would be nice if that part could be streamlined somehow and that the hosts could all be on the same page and just get people seated. But other than that minor issue, everything else is perfection! I had the deep fried avocado appetizer and the 49er roll for dinner, it was all fantastic!

    Everything was amazing. The levels of flavor, nothing over salted. The mocktails and lemonades were amazing. Great staff, friendly, attentive. Fast service and food came out in each course which was timed perfectly.

    Wonderful experience and delicious each and every plate. I can’t wait to go back even just to sit at the bar for a cocktail and some duck rolls! It’s been a while since covid to experience a restaurant where the staff genuinely cares and provides top-notch dining service even though we had 2 kids with us for our special Pre-Thanksgiving occasion.

    The service was stellar, the food, especially the Arancini and special pizza was excellent. My only complaint was that we were there early, only a couple other tables in the whole place had customers, but they sat another group at the closest table to us, raising the noise level significantly in our otherwise empty restaurant.
