Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. For the love of her, Orion forged the island for wild game and seafood to prepare elaborate banquets in celebration of their love. Today, we hope you will enjoy your own celebration as you dine at Kokkari Estiatorio on food “fit for the Gods” prepared with an Aegean palate and the style of innovative California fare.

Che Fico, is a California Italian restaurant from Chefs David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer in San Francisco's NOPA neighborhood. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients. Foreign Cinema is by far one of the best restaurants in San Francisco and throughout the years they have maintained the same quality level. The food is beautifully presented and the innovative flavors are a pleasant surprise to the palate. They have something for everyone. The crew is very well experienced and their recommendations for wine pairing is always right on. Don’t be surprised if they bring complementary dishes. We have been dining at Foreign Cinema since they open and we will continue visiting them.

Fantastic experience, we had been evacuated mid-lunch during the tsunami warning, and the general manager PJ and our original gracious waiter (Jordan) welcomed us back to finish what we started. Highly recommend.

This was our second time dining here and yet again, we were served great food and service. This time it was to celebrate my amazing wife’s birthday with friends. They stayed on top of our table while serving other guest. The food was great and we all left with full belly’s and hearts. Thank you for an amazing experience

Overall had a great experience and meal at the vault. The heaters were the perfect temp. I chose the restaurant based on location near the Jay hotel and menu offerings. The crab dip was fantastic. The fried brussel sprouts were a bit burned. The risotto had great texture but I wasn't a fan of the mushrooms but that was personal taste. Overall a pleasant experience. Will try the Vault steak house next time in the city.

This is a really classic San Francisco Italian restaurant. We eat here regularly and ALWAYS have the perfect meal. Wonderful for special occasions or to really show to guests as well. Personally, I hate to write this review as my husband and I feel like it is our little secret. But they deserve the world to know. Fabulous. Absolutely go! Karen and Jeff
