Arrive into the cosy welcome lounge for pre-dinner drinks; chat, get comfortable, and relax – there will be no classical piano and hushed tones in here! Move through to the bar where you can watch some of the chefs work before they invite you to take your first course. The main event takes place in the restaurant, but forget white tablecloths and stilted service; the food may be formal but the atmosphere is not.     This was our first time and it certainly won’t be our last. Had a lovely birthday lunch. We chose from the lunchtime special menu which had lots of variety to choose from and is exceptionally good value. Each dish was beautifully cooked and presented (loved the added sparkler in my dessert because it was my birthday). Service was excellent, attentive but not over the top and not rushed. Ambiance for a lunchtime just after New Year was great, plenty people in which tells you what a gem it is. Thank you for making my birthday so enjoyable. When we are next in Harrogate we will certainly return.

    Fabulous staff, venue and food. Went here for our 10th wedding anniversary and the staff in particular made this for us. Legacy at The Grand will soon be Michelin starred for sure. Up there with any single star experience we’ve had in England. Special heads up to the sommelier (sorry, didn’t get the name) and Hannah. Naturals.
