A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers.     Reservation at 5:30 was perfect. The live music started at 7. That allowed us to order a couple bottle of wines and apetizers. Then we enjoyed our meal to live jazz music. Great time highly recommend. The service was elite level. Roberto and his team were very attentive and gave us a one of a kind experience. We came for my Wife's bday. She got a birthday sign, they took a photo and printed it out of us and we got a nice cheescake dessert. Cannot recommend this place enough.

    We made reservations for 1:15 p.m. and were seated shortly thereafter. Our hostess and server were friendly and efficient and the food was very good. The cost was great. Our food came out in a timely manner. Overall, I was very satisfied.

    Something for everyone - chicken, turkey, salmon, Mexican dishes, etc. and seemingly every possible side dish. Not fancy, but it doesn't need to be, just comfortable. The staff kept the chafing dishes full and immediately cleaned up any food dropped by customers. Nice environment. Every staff member we interacted with couldn't have been more friendly. I must have heard "Happy Thanksgiving" thirty or forty times, which we appreciated as it was very sincere. The staff did an excellent job of clearing tables and being available for anything we needed. We intend to attend next year.
