- HHaleyPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoEverytime I have been here we always have an amazing experience. We always order something from the off menu list and it is always 10/10!! Last night we ordered the special redfish over red pepper risotto… I mean I have no words for it. Absolutely incredible. We are going to start coming here at least once a month. By far my favorite restaurant in Houston!More infoLiberty Kitchen & Oysterette - River OaksPrice: Expensive• Seafood• River Oaks•4.6
- GGinnyVIPAustin •54 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe love this special little place in Rice Village. Whenever we are in town we try to get a reservation because they are consistently good and have a nice twist to traditional Greek offerings. As many restaurants going through and surviving the pandemic, they have had to adjust their offerings and we think they have planned well. We dined on the most beautiful chicken at Helen’s on Christmas Eve that took me back to the Greek home-cooking I grew up eating. Their selection of Greek wines are always wonderful and the appetizer and salad last night were delish! One would expect that a restaurant could be a bit “off” on a holiday evening, but not this kitchen nor the staff. It was perfection from start to finish and we just wish they were in Austin instead of Houston!More infoHelen Greek Food and WinePrice: Moderate• Greek• Rice Village•4.6
- JJulieVIPHouston •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoRun don't walk to this restaurant! Don't let the casual and unassuming ambiance fool you -this is a true delight! Great 3-course lunch menu for $29 with generous portions. Everything made from scratch daily including pizza, pasta and sorbet, and everyone in our picky family of 5 can't wait to go back. We had chicken poblano soup, margherita pizzas, pappardelle, and an assortment of sorbets. My 11-yr old self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur says it's the best pizza she's ever had. The owner/chef is there working hard in the kitchen and greeting customers in the dining room with the utmost hospitality. We also brought home a huge bottle of their delicious olive oil for only $27.More infoMagdalena's Trattoria PizzeriaPrice: Expensive• Italian• Upper Kirby / Shepherd Corridor•4.9
- TtaeleneSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review4.0Dined 4 days agoI recently visited State of Grace for a Christmas date with my husband, and while I had high hopes for the evening, the experience was a bit underwhelming. We ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters and Oyster Bienville to start, followed by two spritz cocktails and the Bistecca alla Fiorentina as our main course. While the service was attentive and the ambiance was inviting, the food itself left much to be desired. The oysters were fresh, and the Bistecca alla Fiorentina didn’t live up to expectations, especially considering the hefty $370 bill. Having traveled to Florence, we’ve enjoyed authentic Bistecca alla Fiorentina at Trattoria ZaZa and Buca Mario. The portions there were much larger, unbelievably flavorful, and cost around 70 euros—an experience we still miss to this day. Hoping to relive that memory, we decided to give State of Grace’s version a try, even at $225. Unfortunately, it fell far short of the real thing. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were enjoyable, the food fell short, making it hard to justify the cost. I wouldn’t recommend it for the price point, but it might be worth a try if ambiance and service are your priorities.More infoState of GracePrice: Expensive• Contemporary Southern• River Oaks•4.7
