Mertens Prime, located in the historic 1914 New Hotel Mertens lobby in Grand Rapids, offers locally sourced, in-house hand-cut steaks, chops, and unique takes on classics.     We had reservations for 5. Walked right in and was seated right away. Great service, friendly, easy going. Food was fantastic. 2 had the Government Cheese burger, cooked perfect. 1 had the grilled cheese, outstanding! 1 had the chicken fajita wrap, so good! 10/10 recommend.

    Food was typical bar food with only one vegan option, a vegan burger, which was decent. Happy to have something I could eat. Didn't like that we were at a standing table, outside, in front of the stage but told we had to stay in our seat, couldn't even stand at the table with the chair right behind us. Last thing I want to do after sitting at a desk all day is sit and listen to a good band... let me move my legs just a little bit while staying at my table.
