Best Fun Restaurants in Palisades Park

We plan our trip to NYC around eating at Carmine’s. This time we ate at the upper West Side location. We usually eat at the Times Square location. But this year it was booked solid for Christmas a month in advance. We were wowed again with an awesome meal at Carmines at 91st Street. We had the garlic bread with cheese. We always ask to add the cheese. So wonderful. We also split the lasagna. It is the best we have ever tasted. We brought over half of it home. I would recommend either Carmine’s to anyone wanting authentic Italian food at its best.

Reservations are a must. Crowded at the bar but much more serene in the restaurant proper. Good food reasonably priced. Seasonal menu available. We chose from both. It’s a classic. Enjoy!

Our server Leo was outstanding as were the other servers. The food was excellent! We requested a quiet table because one of the people in our party has hearing loss and the restaurant was very attentive to that when seating us. We were not rushed at all and the server was able to recommend several items which were delicious Had the branzino, lamb kabob, shnitzel, as large plates. Taboon "bread" was superb. Humous and Israeli salad were excellent. We decided to have dessert and the flourless chocolate cake and other dessert were scrumptious Will definitely go back! Excellent food - everything from mezzes to main meals and desserts was fabulous, fresh, full of taste and left us wanting more. Excellent service - our waiter was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and helpful and our water glasses were always full. We were seated in the upper back room, near the wine wall - so it wasn't too noisy but it was very warm, much warmer than the main dining room which was comfortable. We look forward to returning!

Fantastic, friendly bar with great cocktails prior to our dinner reservation. Cozy, stylish room; attentive, friendly service; delicious food including hearty vegetable soup, wonderful, simply composed salads, and terrific fish and poultry entrees. Large portions and well priced. A lovely experience as a starter for the holiday week!
