In 2019, Christopher and Melissa opened Canal House Station, a hidden gem tucked into an elegantly restored 1870s train station on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford, NJ. Their idiosyncratic, modern American cuisine is inspired by local ingredients that are ripe and in season in Hunterdon and Bucks County. They are two women, cooking together, and sharing their love of gathering people around the table to eat good food. The only 'snag 'was that our order ticket was somehow 'lost', but our server, 'Léa K' was very apologetic and accommodating. She kept us amply supplied with chips, sauce and drinks while we waited for our meals. We were not in a hurry (no show to go to, etc.), so no problem. In addition, our deserts were 'on the house', due to the delayed meals.....a complete surprise! Mesa was a nice experience, as always.... we'll be back,

My fiancée and I planned an anniversary dinner at SURV. Upon arriving (with a reservation) I requested a booth which the male host said they were taken while 3 were open and the restaurant was quiet. The male host then says I have to put you in the “common” area and puts us in a table right in front of the kitchen where the door was going open and close constantly. The host was rude and didn’t compromise but then a very nice waiter took our concern and moved us which was greatly appreciated. Food was good but not over the top great. I enjoyed their drinks more. Ambiance was very nice and my waiter was awesome!
