- EEllenBaltimore / Maryland •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoAlways happy to be at Hamilton's. Love the food, drinks and service. Recent visit included a reunion with some dear friends I hadn't seen in over a year- we go back more than 50 years. So of course we stayed a long time- 2 hours. Our reservation was for 7 pm. Despite not leaving til 9 pm, the staff never gave any indication we were overstaying. Gracious hosts til the end. I so appreciated it. Who knows when we will see each other again.More infoHamiltons' At First & MainPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Charlottesville•4.7
- SSanjayVIPToronto / Ontario •35 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe go to this place once every year at Christmas time to celebrate a birthday. I believe this is the 3rd or 4th year of us going back. It is a great spot — really good food and ambience. The service was incredible — we were assisted by Jack and his service, attention to detail, demeanour, positive vibes, etc etc was unbelievably good. It was such a pleasure all evening. When he realized we were celebrating a birthday he offered a Molton chocolate cake dessert on the house even though we had paid the bill, we asked for a cocktail recipe and he hand wrote it for us. It was little gestures like this that make it memorable. It made a really good dinner to be great and for that we are very appreciative.More infoTenPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Charlottesville•4.9
- GGwynneVirginia •38 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWow, just wow - the food is outstanding. We had 4 in our party and everyone got steak - rib-eye, NY, and filet (2). They were all cooked perfectly and the portions are large. We had sides of smashed potatoes and mushrooms - both were outstanding. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. John, our server, was great. He was perfectly attentive and time everything very well. The salad that comes with the dinner is underwhelming - I like my salad lightly dressed however it tasted like there was no dressing at all. That could definitely be better. If I would change one thing, it would be the seating. The tables along the back are high tables with chairs and a bench. Unless you are very tall, the table is high so you feel your face is too close to the table and the seating just isn't very comfortable. I hope to sit in a booth sometime which looks much more comfortable. Overall we will definitely be back to enjoy the amazing food and highly recommend Black Cow!More infoBlack Cow ChophousePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Charlottesville•4.9
- MRMichaelRSan Francisco Bay Area •8 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe had dinner in a booth by the bar. I have no idea what the upstairs dining room is like. We each started with a cocktail. They gave an extensive and creative list of cocktails. We shared the cornmeal crusted fried oysters. They were fresh and very tender, fried to a crispy perfection. Tcornmeal breading was not too heavy. A great start. My wife had the baby back pork ribs and I had the bone-in pork chop, both were delicious and loaded with flavor. They have an extensive selection of sides that are freshly prepared, definitely not an afterthought. We were visiting C-ville but if we lived there, Maya would be a regular stop for us.More infoMayaPrice: Expensive• Southern• Charlottesville•4.7
