- CCarolNewcastle and Northumberland •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe loved the Sunday roast today. It was so tasty and good sized portions. We finished off with sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding which were both delicious. The staff are tremendous, friendly and helpful and attentive and the feel of the restaurant is warm and modern. The car park has been finished and is well designed and we loved the new orangery. It’s lovely to be able to eat there.More infoThe Courtyard PegswoodPrice: Moderate• Bistro• Morpeth•4.7
- HHarryHertfordshire •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoTucked away close to Newcastle's thousand-year-old castle, the French Quarter is a gem that provides a memorable dining experience. It offers a harmonious blend of exceptional food, warm service, and an inviting ambience. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with French-inspired dishes that highlight a perfect marriage of flavours and freshness. On my visit, I began with an exquisite Rillettes de Porc with some off-menu toasted bread. I followed this with an indulgent Bœuf Bourguignon accompanied by a tangy Gratin Dauphinois and fresh Haricot Vert. The staff were an absolute delight—attentive, friendly, and passionate about their work. They were happy to make recommendations, explaining food combinations with detail and enthusiasm. Every interaction felt personal, adding an extra layer of warmth to my visit. The restaurant offered subtle touches of a French bistro, a cosy yet sophisticated charm. It's perfect for both intimate dinners and lively group get-togethers. It's not budget dining, but the quality of the food, impeccable service, and overall experience justify the cost. Portions are generous, and each dish feels crafted with care. Whether you're a fan of French cuisine or just looking for a memorable culinary experience, the French Quarter delivers on all fronts. I will certainly return.More infoThe French QuarterPrice: Expensive• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8
