Located in the heart of downtown, The Esquire Tavern is the oldest bar on the San Antonio Riverwalk, opened the year, month and day that Prohibition was repealed. Tending bar in the early days was a highly prized and much sought after craft. Bar keeps then created many of their own syrups, mixes and concoctions and used the freshest of juices with the intention of serving the best products. We at the Esquire have taken a serious approach to the old world of bartending and spun it with a modern twist. Combining classic techniques and new world flavors and culinary concepts, our goal is to lead and set San Antonio's emerging cocktail culture on the map.

“YOU MAY ALL GO TO HELL, AND I WILL GO TO THE CROCKETT TAVERN!”Born out of the ruins of The Alamo’s last stand, situated on the El Camino Real Trail, the Crockett Tavern is the real Texas deal.Located in the historic Crockett Hotel, feet away from the perimeter walls of the legendary Alamo, the Tavern exists as a living reflection of the site of the infamous battle of nearly two centuries ago and of Davy Crockett, the storied frontiersman whose life and death provided the most remarkable narrative of it all.The surroundings tell their own tale. Old Bexar rock, repurposed oak and cedar beams create a canvas that harkens back to the days when Texas was a battleground for independence. After your visit to the world-famous Alamo, the Tavern offers a chilled whiskey cocktail or an ice-cold Texan craft-brewed beer, served at a worn and weathered bar that is guarded by Texas’ largest girth longhorn mount.

We really enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner at Domingo. Elote corn and Mexican shrimp cocktail for appetizers, and flat iron steak and short ribs for our entrees. The passion fruit margaritas were delicious too! Loved the ambience sitting on the outdoor patio with Christmas lights and river walk. I recommend checking this spot out!

We had fabulous service right from the start. The hostess suggested a different table from the one that was originally reserved - she thought a larger table would be more comfortable for our party of six. And our server, Jazmine, was great. She understood that we wanted to take our time and enjoy being together on the holiday. She paced our drinks, appetizers and entrees so that we take our time. Our food was delicious too.
