Delightful old pub by the Ashdown forest. Good menu and service. Genuinely surprised by the quality of the food. Fully recommend. Staff welcoming and attentive. And most important - the plates were warmed. Nice coffee too. Will be booking another lunch there soon.

Shown to our table as soon as we arrived. Excellent service and sumptuous food. Roast beef and lamb with all the trimmings you would expect from a Sunday roast. We will be returning.

Fabulous as always, lovely staff , venue and amazing food , the fish stew was lovely, a firm favourite restaurant.

Lunch for 2. Excellent location, comfortable and welcoming environment, tables nicely spaced, well thought-out menu and specials, good cooking, portions and presentation on the plate, decent wine list at sensible prices, charming staff, not rushed although we lingered until gone 5pm, overall a very satisfying and enjoyable experience. Value for money and highly recommended.
