Best Historic Restaurants in Lawnside

We went for brunch this past Sunday and sat in the heated tent. We've been to the Morris many times for brunch and dinner/drinks. It is one of our favorite brunch spots because we can bring our dog with us when we sit in the heated tent. It is one of the very few (if not only) spots we can dine with our dog regardless of the temps or weather. The tent is not so much a tent as it is a solarium. It is all clear which shows off the gorgeous courtyard. The food matches the ambiance. Unfussy but gorgeously creative. Hubby had the breakfast burger and I had eggs Florentine. We both had the breakfast potatoes because they are honestly the best breakfast potatoes on the planet. We love this spot!

It's always an exquisite experience but my last three visits were absolute perfection. The service, menu selection, and menu execution is always as close to perfect as you can get but the wine selections over the past 3 visits completely blew away my expectations. There were a few selections I had before but the additions fit the plates like a glove and as always the description of the wine and history of the vintner given by the server or captain was expertly given. Vetri still has it and ive been there enough to realize Philly is lucky to have Marc and his staff. They exceed expectations and have a way of placing an personal stamp on every individual who dines there. You leave feeling special and fulfilled as If amazing food, service and beverwasnt enough.Bravo!!

I put a note in the reservation that it was my birthday and they made me feel very celebrated! They gave me a birthday card, and the server and manager on duty made sure to wish me a happy birthday, and they also gave me a free chocolate torte for dessert with a candle! Food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. I can’t wait to go back!

This is my 2nd time coming to Bastia. Initially the first review of the menu is a little difficulty to understand but when you have the right server who explains the pattern and each section it gives you a glimpse and idea what to order. It seems that the people who are servers really need to have a strong command of this menu as its complicated from the eyes of a well versed, wordly traveled and exploratory eater I had to take more time to review. I have seen folks on their phone trying to understand menu which is understandable. But again, the server must share this from the start and do not ask "do you have questions" as most people are too shy to share their confusion and feel embarrassed. The food is delicious and my children who are 9 and 10 are totally in love with the complexity and well prepared/seasoned and presentation of the food. Excellent job! The servers to to help each other but the person who delivers the food too has to be enthusiastic and present the food well w/ eloquence and sophistication. That all sounds good but keep up the great work. I did love and enjoy this plus the fruit that is given at end for a traditional thank you and good health.

Always have a fantastic meal. The staff treats you very well and does whatever is necessary to make your time there a pleasant one. Great local Gem....
