A typical food love story. A boy meets a girl while eating pizza. He attends culinary school and open’s a pizza restaurant named after the girl. Thus bringing us to Emily! The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). We ate here for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was excellent. The hostess seemed a bit frazzled, which may be understandable since it was busy. She seated people ahead of us who had a reservation 30 min later than we did and then we had to wait for a table. The women’s bathroom doesn’t have hooks in the stalls so there is no place to put your purse. Minor complaint but I was surprised by this oversight.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at OIFLTIBS. My 91 year old mother has lived around the corner for 64 years and we’ve been to the restaurant off and on for special occasions over the last 40 years. The food was delicious and the service was fabulous from Hosts at door to our great Server Fernando to the table buss people. All so nice and very attentive. It’s a beautiful restaurant and felt very festive and special. Thank you so much.

Our server Kelly was the best! Friendly and attentive without being overly being so. She went above and beyond when they comped a dessert AND added a free one because it came out late. The ambiance was great. Food was good but the overall experience was capped by her welcome attention to detail and genuine friendliness. Thanks and will definitely be back in the future here! The fish branzini and steak was perfect! Thanks for making our small reunion memorable.
