Best Historic Restaurants in Upper Lake

Although it was Thanksgiving we decided to order from the menu, and we have no regrets! Our wonderful waitress recommended I have the lamb chops (stating they were the best thing on the menu)…and they were superb! My husband had the surf and turf, but honestly we would order just the steak next time! We started our meal with the prawn cocktail (fabulous) and the lobster ravioli (too salty for our taste). Wonderful experience and delicious each and every plate. I can’t wait to go back even just to sit at the bar for a cocktail and some duck rolls! It’s been a while since covid to experience a restaurant where the staff genuinely cares and provides top-notch dining service even though we had 2 kids with us for our special Pre-Thanksgiving occasion.

So happy to have Monk's Kettle on our side of the bay! Service was absolutely excellent, vibes were good and we will def be back. This location feels a lot more family friendly than the SF spot, which might be your vibe, or maybe not. Lots of kids around, but when we were there they were all pretty chill. I think all of Rockridge is incredibly stoked to have MK here, because it can be hard to get in if you are aiming for prime time or the weekend. I recommend getting a reservation, at least until the hype wears off. It might not though. This is probably one of the coolest places in the neighborhood. We ordered the burger (which was cooked perfectly) and the chicken sando which was also super tasty. Both of us got the kale salad as a side and it had a nice variety of veggies, great flavor and wasn't over-dressed. Sometimes side salads are kind of depressing, but not this one :). Welcome to the neighborhood!
